As a long time Santee resident I am appalled at the way San Diego treats Santee. Every unplesant project they have is pushed as close to the Santee border as possible when there is ample room further west. Out of sight out of mind for them! What about us? Several years ago they tried to put something in the open area at the end of Medina. The landfill and now an expansion, the power plant, that's not over yet. How about the sewage plant at the Mission Gorge Rd. & 52 entrance? I just hope Santee is receiving some kind of compensation for all this disrespect.

people in Santee believe in the fairy tale story of "participatory democracy". This is their undoing, their belief that they can use the political system to have their voice heard will lead to the destruction of West Santee. I suggested at a community power plant meeting that the community start to picket. One person told me if I wanted to use my first amendment rights don't picket, write a letter to the editor! The only other person willing to exercise their rights was a little old lady with a serious pulmonary illness. This says it all! West Santee Residents get what they deserve, they have neither the intelligence to understand the reality of their predicament nor the will to put up the type of fight that is needed to save West Santee. West Santee is indeed destined to become a blight and the residents have no one to blame but themselves. Well, that isn't they way it will go down, the majority of people that did nothing will blame those that really fought to save West Santee.

How dare you say west Santee residents get what they deserve!!! How many Stop the power plant meetings and rallies have you attended? Did you man the table at the concerts at the park in Santee to get support for stopping the power plant?? Did you go to any of the San Diego planning commission meetings to stop them from voting to rezone the property?? We were on every news station with the support from our group and guess what, they voted no to to the rezoning. So, you can't say we are not trying!!! Go on the Savemissiontrails.org and find out when the next meeting is and you will see the support to try and save west Santee. By the way, what is your first name so we can greet you at our next meeting....

A concerned group of Santee citizens did speak out against the Sycamore Landfill Expansion at the San Diego City Council Meeting on Monday, but massive public opposition didn't materialize. Don't let this happen again! We must stop the Quail Brush Power Plant this Monday September 24th at 2PM, Council Chambers, 12th Floor, City Administration Building 202 "C" St. By joining together and showing massive public opposition we will not fail!
