Weekend/Holiday Dose: A Piping Hot Fourth!

Independence weekend brings the heat.

Santee seems to be saving most of it's energy over the weekend for huge Fourth of July celebrations on Monday! Not too many events this weekend... but plenty of heat.

• Triple-digit temperatures are in store for San Diego County this weekend, luckily Santee should only hit the mid 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

This weekend the high should hit about 95 with a low near 67, but July Fourth should only hit the high 80s in Santee.

NWS says the inland coastal areas and lower coastal valleys should be cooler.

• is happening from 3:30-9:30 p.m. on Monday. It features a lineup of live music, children's activities in a "Kid Zone" and a wonderful fireworks display.

• Santee facilities closed on Monday (Independence Day):

  • (City of Santee Aquatics Center (pool only) is open from 1-3pm)
  • Lakeside Teen and Community Centers
