Santee , along with school board and water district openings, and candidates for the upcoming November election had until Friday at 5 p.m. to register their papers- so we know who's running.
Councilmember and Mayor currently occupy the major Santee positions open in November, and both are running as incumbents. Maggie Acerra, a Tea Party candidate, will face off against Dale, and perennial local candidate will run against Voepel.
Other local positions on the ballot include two seats: Dianne El-Hajj has no opposition, and another seat is currently unopposed by an incumbent, as won't be running. Small business owner Elena Levens-Craig is matched against real estate agent Robin Fries in that race ( has yet to return his papers to file).
Two Padre Dam seats, and a seat are also open, see candidates below.
