Number of Home Sales in Santee Up in April, Median Price Drops

The median sales price is about $100,000 lower than the county average.

The number of single-family homes sold in Santee jumped 24 percent from March to April, but the median sales price dropped $17,020, according to figures from the San Diego Association of Realtors released Tuesday.

The $347,500 median sales price is 9 percent higher than April 2012, but about 5 percent below the median price in March, according to the SDAR. 42 homes were sold last month.

The data also showed that the median sales price of a single-family home in San Diego County reached $450,000 last month for the first time in five years.

"If there was any lingering doubt about the real estate comeback, these numbers should put that doubt to rest," said Linda Lee, SDAR's president.

The SDAR reported that the median price of $215,000 for condominiums and townhomes in Santee was up about 16 percent over April of last year, but slightly down from of March this year.

Properties in Santee are remaining on the market for an average of about 43 days, according to the SDAR.
