Santee Home Prices Rise 14% in 2013, Less Sales in December

The median price of a single-family residence that sold in the Santee last year was $375,000, a 14 percent increase over 2012, a local Realtors group reported Wednesday. This is less of an increase in median sales price than the county average.

For multi-family housing units like condominiums and townhomes, the median price in 2013 was $233,450 -- a 27 percent leap over the previous year, according to the San Diego Association of Realtors.

Houses and condos also spent about half the time on the market in 2013 than in 2012.

As for sales that occurred last month, the median price of a house was $380,000, a 7 percent drop from November.

The median sales price in December 2013 for condos and townhomes was $239,000, up $9,000 from the previous month.

While prices continued to gain, the number of home sales dropped last month to 23, a 36 percent drop.
