Santee Homes Are Selling for 21% More Than Last Year

Real estate sales in Santee appear steady while sales and prices drop in the county.

Signs show that Santee's residential real estate market is steady, while signs of regional sales slowing showed up in a report released Monday by the San Diego Association of Realtors

A total of 36 single-family homes were sold in Santee last month, the same number sold in November 2012. The number of sales have been erratic lately though, with 18 sales in September and 44 in August of this year.

The median cost of a single-family house in Santee in November was $408,000, 21 percent higher than the same month in 2012, according to the statistics.

The median price of a house across the first 11 months of this year was $375,000, nearly 15 percent above the first 11 months of last year.

According to the figures, 409 houses sold in the first 11 months of 2013 in Santee, only 15 more sales over the same time frame of 2012. Also, 237 condos or townhomes were sold year-to-date, with a 27 percent median rise in sales price.

The same report showed home sales in San Diego County were down 15.6 percent from the same month in 2012, and 11.3 percent below October of this year. The median sales price in the region was also down 1.3 percent compared to last month.
