Artwork by Santee resident Dixie Sampier on exhibit at La Mesa health library

From the Bayou to Santee, Dixie Sampier of Santee paints impressionistic artwork

The Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library, a consumer health library in La Mesa, is currently featuring an exhibit of 15 oil and water color landscape paintings by Santee resident Dixie Sampier through the end of March.

Sampier began her artistic career in the bayous of Louisiana. She works in oil, watercolor, acrylics, and mixed-media, creating paintings on-location and from her photographs with a free-flowing style that is impressionistic. A member of the Foothills Arts Association and East County Art Association, Sampier is serving as the artist in residence at the Summers Past Farm in Flinn Springs. Her work can be seen at www.DixieSampier.com.
