West Hills High School AP Govt. class steps up big to help Santee restaurants succeed.

I spoke with two students from Mr. Cambu's AP Government class at West Hills High School that helped to organize this event. What started out as a class project to earn some points towards a good grade has turned into something that might help a local business gain new life.

The idea of a "Cash Mob" is to get a crowd of people to all come and patronize a business at the same time. Thus infusing some quick cash into the business and showing community support at the same time.

Over 150 people committed to attending the cash mob event Monday night at Pinnacle Peak restaurant on Mission Gorge Rd. A number of which had never been to the restaurant before. The hope is that this exposure to the establishment by new people may garner some new loyal customers.

This is not a "one and done" event either. The "Santee Restaurant Society" plans on doing the same thing again on Friday night at Roots Community Kitchen also on Mission Gorge Rd. in the Sprouts Shopping Center. So if you could not be a part of tonight's festivities, come join the "Mob" on Friday at Roots.
