What's Going On In Santee Talks Roots Kitchen, Best Burrito, Santee Baseball & More

This week I wanted to remind everyone about two great charity clean up events going on this Saturday, along with a whole lot more.

This week I wanted to remind everyone about two great charity clean up events going on this Saturday.

The first is the San Diego Association of Realtor's sponsored "" local home rehab. Each year Rebuilding Together finds sponsors to help rehabilitate homes in communities all across the country and this year one of those homes is right here in Santee. We will be meeting at 10466 Reginas Ct. at 8am to kick things off and get to work pulling weeds, trimming trees, scrapping paint, and repainting this home for an elderly couple that can not keep up on the home themselves any longer.

While that is going on in the East part of Santee, The Mormon Church is sponsoring a . We will be meeting at 9am at the Northeastern Pavilion just out side of Wall Mart to kick off that event. This event is open to anyone that would like to come and help clean up the trail. They just ask that you wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves, and if you can, some out door gardening tools.

My last event is one of the coolest! That is the presentation of a proclamation to . Making her the most senior citizen that we have in Santee. The proclamation will be presented at the being held tonight at 7pm at . Ms. McCartney's birthday is actually on May 3rd, but we do not have another council meeting before that to present the proclamation to her at.

She will be celebrating her big day on May 12th from 11am to 3pm at , so if you are in the area, stop by and wish her a very happy birthday!!

In this episode of What's Going On, our special reporters will also be talking about the transformation of the restaurant to the new , the , West Hills and Santana Baseball, and of course "Get Fit" tips of the week.

Can't send messages to Dad because he's now deceased, but my dad was very wise...He'd say thingsRead More like: "You can get arrested for what you say, but not what you think!" - or - "Take care of your feet, and they'll take care of you!" My dad wasn't much for words, but he was always a stable figure growing up and was loyal to mom throughout the years. Nowadays, that in and of itself is honorable! Thank you Dad! In Loving Memory...
