This week U-T San Diego featured the story of a Santee resident who overcame dropping out of high school in 10th grade to return to education at Grossmont College and become student body president at age 62.
Peg Marcus, a great-grandmother, one-time clown and the oldest current student on campus, has already earned an associate degree in social and behavioral sciences and is working on a degree in occupational therapy. She ran unopposed for ASB president last year and won.
Fellow students and faculty at the college refer to her as a role model, energetic and even fashionable.
