Academic League Week 9: Santee Varsity Teams Win
Two of four Santee high school teams beat their opponents in Wednesday's competitions.
Academic League is a quiz bowl type competition with fast-paced questions ranging from arts, math, history, government, current events and other subjects students might encounter in school. Santee Patch will be reporting scores and standings each week of competition.
Santee’s high school varsity teams beat their opponents in of the Grossmont Union High School District .
With eight wins and no losses, varsity team remains in first place. The team outscored Helix by a wide margin, 120 to 42. ’ varsity team also beat its opponent, El Capitan, 86 to 65. The team ranks third, with seven wins and just one loss.

Both schools’ junior varsity teams, however, fell short of a victory. Helix topped Santana 57 to 48, leaving the team ranked in fifth place among other junior varsity teams. El Capitan beat West Hills 41 to 25. West Hills’ junior varsity team now ranks eighth.
