2011 Great Shakeout Earthquake Preparedness Day

A major earthquake is predicted on the San Andreas Fault during our lifetime. Are San Diego County residents prepared to survive and recover?

State and local preparedness experts and representatives are urging San Diegans to join more than 7.7 million Californians by taking part in the Great California ShakeOut earthquake drill at 10:20 a.m. on Oct. 20.

Individuals, small organizations, large corporations and agencies can register to practice a safe response to an earthquake during the 10/20 10:20 Shake Out drill. By practicing drop, cover and hold on, residents will improve their chances of surviving a major earthquake. Equally important, residents can learn what to do to prepare, and how to recover.
