Santee Native Wins Outstanding Single Subject Student Teacher at SDSU

Her name will be added to the perpetual wall trophy in the School of Teacher Education Facility at SDSU.

Amy Rundle, a 2007 graduate of and a 2010 graduate of San Diego State University, has been selected as the Philip Halfaker Outstanding Single Subject Student Teacher for the Spring 2012 by the School of Teacher Education in the College of Education at SDSU.

Her name will be added to the perpetual wall trophy in the School of Teacher Education Facility at SDSU. The award was presented at the College of Education Honors and Award Reception on May 4. Dr. Halfaker was Professor and Chairperson of the College of Education and served as President of the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education.

The award is based on the recipient exemplifying strong character, initiative, interpersonal skills, leadership, passion for education, excellence, and outstanding performance in the classroom as a student and as a student teacher.

Amy performed her Student Teaching at Parkway Middle School and at Helix Charter School. She also is serving as the Assistant Varsity Women's Swim and Water Polo Coach for the 2011-2012 seasons at Helix.
