In an effort to target more elementary and middle-school aged children, Sportsplex USA reached out to the SSD Foundation to seek a “win-win” collaboration.

Sportsplex USA and the SSDF developed a partnership in September which would allow Sportsplex USA to promote the youth soccer program to the students in the Santee School District. As a result of their support, Sportsplex USA committed to donating $10 for every child registered in the new winter 2012 league.  After a successful registration period, 144 children signed up for the youth soccer program.

The recreational, coed league is designed for boys and girls age 5-12. The concept of the program is to provide all children equal playing time, regardless of skill.  Each team is coached by a volunteer and has one 1-hour practice per week and Saturday games.  Sportsplex USA has committed to make the same donation of $10 per child back to the SSDF for the duration of this program. Their goal is to double registration to 300 players by January 2013.  Sportsplex USA plans to offer a spring 2012 season scheduled to start on March 24, 2012.
