Santee's high school teams dominated this year's Academic League season. In February, the GUHSD championship game came down to Santana and West Hills, and in a close game, Santana came away with the championship for the second season in a row.

The proclamation given to the team read in part: "The Academic League Team on campus, which started 28 years ago, keeps American democracy alive by laying the foundation for good citizenship."
