The West Hills Restaurant Society will be hosting a cash mob at Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse and Roots Community Kitchen in Santee next week.
The idea of the cash mob is to help restaurants in Santee by providing free advertising and by attending the restaurants in mass number, according to the WHRS Facebook page.
Cash Mobs are a recent phonomenon used to "support local businesses and encourage people to buy locally," according to the cashmob.com.
WHRS is a group made from students in the West Hills High AP Government class that are "trying to make a difference in our community," according to their Facebook page.
The event at Pinnacle Peak is Monday (Jan. 14) and the Roots Community Kitchen event is on Friday (Jan. 18) both at 5:30 until closing.
Roots Community Kitchen is a new addition to Santee that is described as a "farm-to-table gastropub with homestyle hospitality." Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse is a longtime Santee restaurant where you'll lose a tie if you dress too fancy.
