El Pollo Loco Coming to Santee, Jobs Open
A sign recently went up confirming that the restaurant that specializes in Mexican-style fire-grilled chicken will open at the old Burger King spot on Mission Gorge Road.
A banner recently went up confirming that El Pollo Loco will open at the old Burger King location on Mission Gorge Road in Santee.
El Pollo Loco, which specializes in Mexican-style fire-grilled chicken, will open at 9714 Mission Gorge Rd. No date has been announced for an opening.
A video blog post published by Santee Councilmember Rob McNelis in January said that an El Pollo Loco was planned for the location. Burger King closed months ago and remodeling began on the building recently.
The remodel of the 2,926 sq. ft. building was bid at $2 million, according to documents. It hasn't been confirmed if this location will include a drive-thru (like Burger King had), but from the look of the construction, it should.
A job listing announcing that the new location is hiring cooks, prep, service experts, cashiers and assistant managers was posted on Craigslist recently.
