Jersey Mike's Subs to Open With Fundraiser for Santee Students

The new restaurant is giving out coupons offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Santee School District Foundation.

Jersey Mike’s Subs will open its doors in Santee on November 13, kicking off five days of serious fundraising to benefit the students of Santee and the potential for lots of locals to try one of their subs for as little as $1.

Franchise owner Ray Ibrahim will hold a grand opening and "free sub" fundraiser from Wednesday, November 13 to Sunday, November 17 to support the Santee School District Foundation. The new restaurant, located at 9331 Mission Gorge Road, will circulate 12,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Santee School District Foundation.

The Jersey Mike’s company said Ibrahim exemplifies the company's quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's dedication to giving back to the local community.  Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“In early October I opened my first Jersey Mike’s location in El Cajon.  All of the buzz and excitement was so much fun that I can’t wait to do it all over again in Santee, said Ibrahim.

“This time we will be raising money to benefit the Santee School District Foundation to give back to the students in our community.”

The Santee School District Foundation raises money to help local students in a variety of ways. They most recently worked with the district to provide $85,000 in "Innovation Grants" to local teachers for technological teaching projects.

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
