QA: Satisfy Your 'Creative Instinct' With Santee Resale
Creative Instinct is a unique estate resale store that carries items from antique to vintage to modern everyday household items.
One of Santee's newest resale stores, Creative Instinct, moved from El Cajon to a new location at the corner of Cuyamaca St. and Buena Vista Ave. this fall.
The owners, who live minutes from the shop, said they were inspired by shows like "Storage Wars" to open the shop. Items in the store come from storage auctions, estate sales, online auctions and consignment customers.
Owner William Rothwell answered some questions from Santee Patch:
Q. What is Creative Instinct?
A. Creative Instinct is a unique Estate Resale store that carries items from antique to vintage to modern everyday household items. It started from our interest in shows like "Storage Wars" and "Storage Hunters" and quickly grew a life of its own.
Q. Why should someone choose to stop by Creative Instincts on Black
Friday instead of Walmart or Best Buy?
A. We offer better prices and more unique items.
Q. What are some creative gifts you have sitting in your store right now?
A. We have a huge collection of never-worn designer men's and women's shoes, a wide variety of collectibles for all ages and excellent crystal and china sets. We also have DVDs (new and used) and books that make for great holiday gifts.
Q. Did you choose to locate the shop in Santee? If so, why?
A. Location... this is a great area and community to be a part of.
Q. What sparked the idea to give away small toys during the holiday?
A. We were trying to figure out a way to give back to the local community for their support. As a new business, we realized that our resources were limited, but we were able to come up with an idea that will help many families who need a little extra help during the holidays.
