Starting A New Workout Program

Starting a new workout program and making it stick.

Starting a new workout program, or any workout program for that matter, can be a scary endeavor, but will be so worth your while. I suggest trying something different than what you used to do. There was a reason why you stopped that particular workout and did not start back up again.

Give the new workout a couple of weeks before you decide it is not for you and then try something else. Half the fun will be trying new things along the way to finding your workout preference. Also, enlist a friend or co-worker to join you. It will make the time go by faster and you can encourage each other along the way.

Once you find your workout, whether its , or hiking , , or a workout video, it will be a relief that you have found something that you like to do and will look forward to it on a regular basis. Also, set a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

For example, maybe you are an early bird, stick with something in the morning rather than fitting it in at night. Scheduling your workouts should not be stressful! The idea is to find what you like to do best so that working out and being fit is fun and enjoyable!

Remember, if you are starting to workout again or for the first time, to take it easy and listen to your body. You might only be able to run for 5 minutes the first go round. Set easy goals for yourself each week like increasing the minutes you run before you start to walk.  had to start somewhere.
