Santana softball not only won the CIF championship this year, but they had the most athletes honored with placement on the U-T San Diego All-Academic Team of the high school ball teams in Santee.
The U-T and county Office of Education invited all CIF San Diego section schools to take part. Athletes with cumulative, weighted grade-point averages of 3.0 or better were listed—and will get certificates.
Some 7,482 student-athletes were honored in Saturday’s sports section, including 23 ball players and many other athletes from Santee. See the full list here.
