Big Second Half Moves Sultans on to Div. IV Semis

Santana scores 31 points after intermission to rout Imperial 41-13; to meet Coronado in semis.

A 31-point second half propeled to a 41-13 win over visiting Imperial in the San Diego Section Division IV quarterfinals Friday night, putting the Sultans one win away from reaching the title game at Qualcomm Stadium.

Third-seeded Valley Center (10-1) is at second-seeded Madison (10-0-1) in the other semifinal pairing.

The Sultans had a bye in the final week of the regular season and another last week as the playoffs opened, so it's not surprising they were a bit slow out of the gate against Imperial, a team they had beaten 42-26 back on Sept. 16.
