Star Party

George Varga, a trail guide at Mission Trails Regional Park and a resident star-gazer, will show you off some star spectacles in the sky.

A telescope will be available to view the stars above at the far end of the Kumeyaay Campground's Day Use Parking Lot.

For best viewing results, please don't bring lanterns or white-light flashlights near the telescope.

The Moon will be two days past being Full. The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and its companion M32 are well in position for viewing. Come out and view these two objects whose light takes about 2.5–2.9 million years to reach Earth! Jupiter will be in the southeastern sky.
