Services Set at 3 p.m. Today for Popular Football Coach Frank Yancey

He dedicated his life to the teams he coached, including 18 seasons at West Hills.

Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. today [Friday] at Sonrise Community Church in Santee for longtime West Hills High School football coach Frank Yancey.

A celebration of his life is planned afterward at the Carlton Oaks Country Club banquet room.

Frank Yancey, a beloved East County high school football coach for 28 seasons, passed away in his Santee home at age 49 earlier this month.

He played as an offensive lineman at Santana High and Grossmont College and coached 18 seasons at West Hills. He spent his last season as an offensive line coach at Valhalla.
