San Diego Surge Women's Football Team on Fire This Season, Playing in Santee

Not only did the Surge finish 8-0 in the regular season, they out scored the others 446-12 and are playing in the final playoff game in Santee.

Local restauranteur will tell anyone that's willing to listen: "It might be time to jump on the San Diego Surge wagon!"

The team, part of the Women's Football Alliance, finished the Season 8-0 and now are 2-0 in the playoffs with one game left before the Championship Game at Hines Field in Pittsburgh.

That final playoff game takes place 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at against the Dallas Diamonds. The Surge played all regular season at Santana High School, their new homefield this year, and made their official post-game hang out spot.

The team is doing amazingly well this year- not only did the San Diego Surge finish 8-0 in the regular season, but they out-scored the other teams 446-12. In their two playoff wins they have out-scored the opponents 90-7. 

But, it should be a close game on July 21, both teams are undefeated at 10-0, and the winner will get a shot at the National Championship in Pittsburgh.

The Surge, one of the best teams in the league, made it to the championship game last year and was defeated by the Boston Militia 34-19. This year the game will be shown live on ESPN3, the first time a live women's football game has been shown on a major network.
