Santana National Stays Alive in Little League Playoffs
SNLL will face Brawley at 6:30 p.m. Monday in a bid to reach the section title game.
Tristen Salinas' three-run homer highlighted a six-run first inning and Colton Calvert later added a grand slam as the Santana National Little League All-Stars went on to rout Encanto 16-0 Sunday to remain alive in the section playoffs.
Cooper Mendoza powered a two-run homer in the third inning to increase the SNLL lead to 9-0, and in the fourth, Calvert capped a seven-run outburst with his grand slam. The mercy rule ended the contest after four innings.
Santana National pitchers Salinas, Jerry Alesi and Calvert combined to allow just one hit to Encanto.
