Santana Roars Back to Post 42-26 Win Over Imperial

After falling behind 20-14 in the third quarter, the Sultans score 28 straight points to secure the victory.

Running back Spencer Love scored three touchdowns and receiver Jeff Peterson caught two scoring passes Friday night to lift host Santana High over Imperial 42-26.

The unbeaten Sultans (3-0) led 14-12 at the half but fell behind 20-14 early in the third quarter before scoring 28 straight points to put the game away. Love carried 16 times for 76 yards.

East County passing leader Kyle Gasner completed 11 of 19 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. One of Peterson's TD catches was on a halfback option pass from Tyler Weiss from 26 yards out. Landon Lozoya also got into the act with a touchdown pass. Santana had dropped its last two games against the Tigers from Imperial County.

Boyce Freeman rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns in a losing cause for Imperial (1-2).
