Bring the kids out and introduce them to fishing. Bluegill have been spotted near the rocks and docks. North lake 1 and south lake 4 are the best spots. Redworms work best.

Recipe of the Week: Beer Battered Bluegill

Ingredients:

  • 10-15 bluegills
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Salt and 1/4 tbsp. Pepper
  • 1/4 Tbsp. Paprika
  • One can of Beer
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 4 Cups Peanut oil

Directions:

Start by filleting the bluegills and washing the cleaned fish in cold water. In a bowl add the flour, salt, pepper, paprika and 1/2 cup of beer. For the beer I recommend using a light beer. Mix the ingredients and add more of the beer till you have a pancake like batter. Pour the peanut oil in a deep well pan and heat on high. Dip the fillets in the batter till thickly coated and drop into the hot oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes a side.
