Wolf Pack Falls to Granite Hills, 28-27

West Hills gets apair of field goals in the second half but comes up a point short.

West Hills blanked host Granite Hills in the second half and got a pair of third-quarter field goals from Josh McIntire to close a seven-point deficit to a single point, but still came up short Friday night, dropping a Grossmont Hills League contest to the Eagles, 28-27.

"We should have had more than just field goals those two times," West Hills coach Jess Barragan said. "On both occasions we got caught inside the 5-yard line. If just once we could have punched it across we could have won the ballgame."

Ryan Williams rushed for 186 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries for the Wolf Pack (3-4, 0-2). Granite Hills improved to 5-2 and 1-1 in league action.

"I knew we could run on these guys," Barragan added.

Granite Hills jumped in front 14-0 before Michael Scales broke loose for an 80-yard scoring run to cut the deficit in half. The Wolf Pack eventually took a 21-14 edge when Ryan Williams scored on a 5-yard run and Kavika Williams returned an interception 58 yards for a TD to give West Hills the lead.
