How to Make a Perfect Match With Beer and Barbecue

Experts from Santee and La Mesa help guide choices for how to match the perfect brew with the best barbecue.

Want to know how to properly match a beer so it brings out the taste of barbecue just so – go ask as an expert.

Turns out East County has a few and they love to keep it local, honoring San Diego's bustling craft beer scene.

U-T San Diego cited  La Mesa's Larry Koger, from West Coast Barbecue & Brew, in choosing Monkey Paw's Low and Slow and Coronado Brewing Company's “Rauch-sham-bo” as good choices for pairing with barbecue menus.

Another expert, Chad Glidewell from the Santee Phil's BBQ, pointed to AleSmith's Nut Brown Ale as a favorite and likes the Coronado Brewing Company's Orange Avenue Wit for pulled pork with cole slaw.
