Santee Starts off Strong at State

2011 Santee Gold Teams start off well at State in Lancaster!!

Going to the So Cal ASA State Championship Tournament (aka "State") is an experience that ASA Girls remember.  It's such an achievement to make it to State.

These are the best of the best from each District of So Cal ASA.  Most of the time it is held up in Lancaster, CA.   As hot as it is there, the girls have fun there.  There is a parade held there on Friday night.  The girls line up with their teams, get to participate in the parade and do a pin swap with girls from other teams.

But it is also about softball.  And good softball.  You will see some amazing games held at state, because they are the best of the best.  They have worked hard to get to state.

Our 12U Santee Gold team, played WAGS (Westlake Agoura Girls Softball).  This was a nail biting game.  Last weekend 12Gold lost to WAGS in the Semi-Finals up at the Escondido Freedom Tournament.  At the bottom of the 1st, Santee and WAGS were tied 3-3.  At the top of the third inning, Santee gains the lead at 6-3.  At the bottom of the third innning, however, WAGS came back with 6 runs and led Santee 9 - 6.  At the top of the 4 inning, however, Santee came back and led 10-9.  Santee was able to hold onto the win and won WAGS 10-9.  Way to go Santee 12Gold!!

Santee 10Gold played against Moorpark in their first game. They also won their first game, 6-3!

Stay tuned to find out how are girls are doing!
