IT'S TIME, CPUC Forum on Quail Brush Power Plant Need, This Friday

The time has come to flip off that hushed-rushed quail brushed power plant

The Calif Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold a forum in San Diego.   ALL SAN DIEGANS ARE URGED TO ATTEND.

Help spread the word and forward this article to everyone you can & then plan to carpool together and RALLY!

FORUM WILL BE HELD AT:    Al Bahr Temple/Shriner's  Auditorium: 5440 Kearny Mesa Rd., SD, 92111 (map on attached flyer)  Located between 805 and 15.   South of 52.   Just West of 163.

Located behind Hampton Inn Hotel.    Parking is free.   Carpool if possible!

This forum matters to all San Diegans and this is why:

Strong public support is needed to urge the CPUC to uphold their Proposed Decision regarding 3 UN-NEEDED power plants in San Diego County.

The Proposed Decision, if adopted, can prevent the emission of over 900,000 annual tons of greenhouse gases by denying purchase power tolling agreements.   The most significant of these plants are Pio Pico, estimated to release 685,000 annual tons of GHGs and Quail Brush with over 200 annual tons.

SAN DIEGANS would be saddled with at least $1.2 billion in construction and finance costs for Pio Pico and Quail Brush in exchange for  23 permanent jobs, while in contrast, a San Diego Energy District plan to accelerate the adoption of distributed roof top solar can create thousands of clean energy jobs that keep funds circulating locally.

The energy industry is lobbying heavily to get the CPUC Proposed Decision reversed.

San Diego, it's  TIME TO STAND UNITED,  THIS FRIDAY, FEB 1, 2013 at 6 PM.    Join the Rally at 5:15!

STAY UPDATED and KEEP THE COMMENTS ROLLING IN TO THE CPUC!   INFO AT:

meanwhile the rooftops sit vacant, Greed Energy at it's worst in this County, do the right thing, stop funding their destruction, go off-grid.

Who knows what Cogentrix did behind closed doors in December at the CPUC office? We know they are relentless, have money, and really, really want to put a fossil-fuel power plant right on top of Mission Trails Regional Park. Those of us who frequent the park for exercise and spirituality just want Cogentrix to go back to North Carolina and stop messing with our park. If you, too, appreciate the unique features of our beloved Mission Trails, then you MUST join us this Friday at 6 PM and convince the CPUC that their proposed decision in 2012 was correct. Just think about everything MTRP has given you, and then give something back by standing up against the Quail Brush Power Plant.

We need you! It's very important to have a large showing of people at this forum. If we defeat SDG&E at the CPUC, it pretty much doesn't matter what the Energy Commission decides later because SDG&E won't have legal authority to buy the power.

I encourage everyone to attend this important meeting. My question is, why isn't the location known yet? More CPUC tricks?

Patty is right. Cogentrix has plenty of money to buy the decision they want. We have to stand up against Quail Brush Power Plant and show how much the public is against it! And save Mission Trails Regional Park!

Can't send messages to Dad because he's now deceased, but my dad was very wise...He'd say thingsRead More like: "You can get arrested for what you say, but not what you think!" - or - "Take care of your feet, and they'll take care of you!" My dad wasn't much for words, but he was always a stable figure growing up and was loyal to mom throughout the years. Nowadays, that in and of itself is honorable! Thank you Dad! In Loving Memory...
