Santee Teen Center's Friday Night Hot Spot Dances are Real Hot

More than 200 showed up for last month's dance at City Hall- learn about other ways to help benefit the Teen Center.

The monthly Santee Teen Center dances are growing in popularity and proving the necesseity of having a fully operating teen center in town.

The event gives kids in grades 6-9 an opportunity to dance and socialize in a safe environment, with live dance music, food, and video games. It's organized and supervised by the City of Santee through the and usually scheduled for the last Friday of every month.

At this week's COMPOC meeting, a representative of the Teen Center said that over 200 teens had come to the last Friday Night Hot Spot, and as many are expected at Friday's dance.

The 1st for Rec Softball Tournament will be held June 2 at 8 a.m. at the Santee to raise money to support the operation of the Santee Teen Center, which faced potential cutbacks in the face of . You have to register by May 28, find the registration form attached.

Another City Rec event being held on Friday is one of two Rec Connect open houses, where you can learn more about recreation programs and camps offered through the City of Santee. See table top displays from contracted specialty camps, watch fun program demonstrations, ask questions, meet the staff and register for recreation programs and camps. Receive $5 off each week of Santee Day Camp or X-Factor Day Camp that you register for at a Rec Connect (not valid with multi-family discount).

The free  will be held on Friday, May 18 and June 22 from 5 to 6:30 pm at Santee City Hall, 10601 Magnolia Avenue, Building 7.
