Santee Community Oriented Policing Committee Meeting

• Santee Community Oriented Policing Committee (COMPOC) meetings will consist of representatives of the Sheriff's Dept., local schools, city council and staff and other nonprofits. The committee and its interested parties are concerned with networking and spreading information to keep the community safe and aware. The meeting will start at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 at Santee City Hall Council Chambers Conference Room.

• Shop for fresh produce, crafts and more from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the parking lot of the Pathways Community Church, 9626 Carlton Hills Boulevard.  

• Put on your dancing shoes for an evening of summer fun! Summer Concert Series will feature Tony Suraci as The Highwayman. The band will pay tribute to  Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and more. Summer Concert Series will rock out at 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 at Town Center Community Park East.

• City of Santee will host a Family BBQ for everyone to enjoy. Grub on a hot dog BBQ, share campfire stories and savor some s'mores. Family BBQ is $15 per person or $15 per family of four. The event will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 at the Teen Center (Santee Lakes), Lake 5. 

• Enjoy a movie under the stars. Movies by the Lake will show The Rise of the Guardians. Gates open at 4 p.m., kids activities start at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 at Santee Lakes.
