National Amateur Radio Field Day Exercise at Mission Trails on Sunday

From 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 and from 8:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, the public is invited as Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP) will be participating in the National Amateur Radio Field Day Exercise in conjunction with the San Diego Six Shooters Amateur Radio Club.

The exercise will be held at the MTRP Equestrian Staging Area located at the west end of Mast Blvd. Use Mast Blvd. off-ramp at SR 52.

This free event is open to the public and you will have the opportunity to interact with the club members, and actually communicate with amateur radio groups across the nation.  This will be a real opportunity for everyone to experience what it is like to be an amateur radio operator.

The Emergency Field Day Exercise is an annual event that promotes emergency communication, and demonstrates the role amateur radio plays in disaster response and community event support.
