The Las Colinas Women's Detention Facility is the primary intake point for women prisoners in San Diego…More County.</p> <p>Originally opened to house juvenile offenders in 1967, the 750-bed facility was converted to an all-female facility in 1979 and is operated by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department's Detention Bureau.  Some 12,000 bookings are handled there each year.</p> <p>San Diego County's planned expansion of the Las Colinas women's jail in Santee is moving forward in the face of lawsuits filed against the project and public financing issues. The 15-acre jail property would triple in size.</p>

Santee Fire Station #4 is situated in central Santee near Los Colinas.

The entire firefighting force of Santee…More includes 49 fire fighters, of which nine are on call at Station #4 at any given time. The main Sheriff's Station in Santee is open on weekdays for public drop-ins.
