Santana Adult Center is part of the Grossmont Union High School District's Adult Education School network, which isMore intended for adults age 18 and older. The classrooms are located in the student parking lot at the back of the Santana High School campus.</p> <p>Class offerings include: aerobics, apprenticeships, art, jewelry, photography, auto body repair, block masonry, fitness, water exercise, gardening, needlecraft, quilting, parent education, Tai-Chi and more.</p> <p>The mission of the Adult Education School is "to provide high-quality, affordable, lifelong educational opportunities and services for adults, addressing the educational needs of a diverse population in an era of rapid technological, economic and social change."</p>

Santana High School teaches grades nine to twelve in the Grossmont UnionMore High School District</a>. It received an Academic Performance Index score of 763 in 2009, with a statewide target of 800.</p> <p>It offers students 78 classrooms, a library, four computer labs, AP/Honors, AVID, applied arts classes and career-focused electives such as video productions, culinary arts, introduction to engineering and web design. It also has more than 24 clubs and a music program known as "The Santana Royal Regiment." It's motto is "the home of scholars and champions."</p> <p>The school offers a huge number of athletic teams, including basketball, football, cross-country, track and field, softball, roller hockey, soccer, water polo and wrestling, as well as baseball, golf, gymnastics, softball, cheerleading, swim and dive, tennis, track and volleyball.</p> <p>Santana received national attention in 2001 due to a school shooting on its campus, in which two students were killed and 13 injured.</p> <p>As of 2008-09, the teaching faculty included 61 full-time classroom teachers. The average teacher salary was $69,856, compared with $68,475 in the district and $68,332 in the state.
