Photos: Two Headed Dog and Samurai Kid at 'Ripley's Believe It or Not!' Art Contest

Shrunken heads, a two headed, three legged, dog, a Samurai kid and pancake palm tree were on display with many other oddities created for the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Art Contest hosted by Momentum Tutoring Thursday afternoon.

The artworks were made by local kids, many of them part of the three-week Ripley's Believe it or Not! summer camp. The camp and the art contest are the first of it's kind to work directly with the Ripley's organization to create fun, interesting and stimulating activities for kids.

The purpose of the art contest was to "challenge the students of Santee to push the limits of their imagination to create an unusual piece of art." The rule was to use odd or bizarre materials or traditional materials in an innovative way.

Ripley's is known for their museums featuring "everything odd, weird and unbelievable," and for a daily cartoon that has been running for decades. The owner/operator of Momentum Tutoring, Terri Bozhor, worked with the current Ripley's cartoonist, John Graziano, to create solve and draw math lessons that are original and specifically designed for the camp.

Coming up in August Momentum will be offering Mornings With Momentum and Science Camp.
