Manzanita Brewing: Moonshine Too? Soon It Won't Just Be About the Beer

The popular Santee staple for craft beer is working on a concoction it calls 'SoCal Shine.' Soon it will add whiskey to its list of creations too. Are craft spirits the next big thing?

Don't just look to Manzanita Brewing Company for beer. They'll be coming out with the first of their “SoCal Shine” and whiskeys by next month, reports SanDiego.Eater.com.

What's “SoCal Shine”? The variation on moonshine is equal parts vodka and rum, head distiller Jake Pittman said in the report.

The whiskey is expected next year and will include a rye. The distillery arm of the brewing company is also working on a vodka and a rum, and look out for limoncello, an Italian lemon liqueur.
