Firefighters Knock Down Brush Fire on Interstate 8
Blaze was reported at about 10 a.m. west of Main Street.
A brush fire broke out along eastbound Interstate 8 in East County Friday, scorching a 50-by-300-foot patch of earth and causing minor damage to a building, according to Heartland Fire & Rescue.
The blaze was reported about 10 a.m. west of Main Street, and firefighters had the flames knocked down in about 20 minutes, a Heartland dispatcher said.
A building in the 500 block of Front Street was damaged, according to Heartland, which dispatches for various East County fire departments.
No injuries were reported.
