Santee Artist on Display at the SDWS International Watercolor Exhibition

The exhibition, which includes a piece by Rhonda Anderson, runs throughout the month of October at SDWS at Liberty Station.

A Santee-based artist will have pieces on display at two local exhibitions this weekend, Art in the Park at Mission Trails and the San Diego Watercolor Society (SDWS) 33rd Annual International Exhibition.

This prestigious SDWS show, an exhibit of the top watermedia paintings from US and international artists, runs throughout the month of October at Liberty Station. Rhonda Anderson, a watercolor and colored pencil artist from Santee, will be showing her painting "Orchid" at the juried exhibit. The museum is open from Wednesday through Sunday from 10-4 p.m.

Anderson describes her art on her website: "With the use of vibrant, colorful expressionism, I attempt to evoke a mood or thought that draws empathy or an 'instant knowing' response from the viewer."

"I'm very proud to represent east San Diego," said Anderson.

Her painting "The Sheltering Tree," an image of an old California oak tree passed as you walk the Visitors Loop at Mission Trails, will be on display at the Art in the Park fundraiser this weekend and throughout the week.
