140-Acre Brush Fire Near El Monte Park Knocked Down
The fire was first reported on Tuesday.
Firefighters put out a brush fire that burned 140 acres near El Monte County Park, a U.S Forest Service dispatcher said Sunday.
The fire—officially called the Peutz Fire—near 15805 El Monte Rd. was reported to the U.S. Forest Service at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday, with full containment reached at 4:31 p.m. Friday, he said.
No injuries were reported and a cause was under investigation.
