Trolley Square Shopping Center Now Owned by Kimco Realty

The New York-based company recently purchased from Vestar Development Co's shares for $49 million.

Santee's Trolley Square Shopping Center has been fully acquired Kimco Realty, a New York-based company that owns and operates North America’s largest portfolio of neighborhood and community shopping centers, according to the Daily Transcript.

Kimco owned half of the property and recently purchased the other half from Vestar Development Co. for $49 million.

Trolley Square is home to 45 shops and restaurants, an amphitheatre and Green Line trolley stop. Chipotle Mexican Grill and Phil's Barbecue opened recently in the shopping center, and a Grab and Go Sandwhich shop is opening soon.

Kimco owns more than 900 shopping centers nationally and 21 in the San Diego region.
