Blood Drive, Summer Concert, Sweet Pickins' and Anny's Fine Burger

What you need to know in Santee today.

1. Blood Drive- Noon to 5 p.m., Thursday at Navy Federal Credit Union Parking Lot, 9660 Mission Gorge Rd.
Stop by to help keep the local supply of blood for patients strong. It is suggested you eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids before donating. Photo ID needed to donate.

2. Summer Concert Series: Len Rainey and the Midnight Players- 6:30 p.m. at Town Center Park East.
Grab a blanket or a beach chair and enjoy free live music on the lawn. From playing clubs to Santee's riverside- get your mix of blues, jazz, and rock & roll from the Midnight Players.

3. New Business: Sweet Pickins' opened up in early July at Carlton Oaks Plaza. It's described as an "upscaled thrift store." Open Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

4. Santee Bites: Anny's Fine Burger
Located in the Santee Trolley Square, this unassuming burger spot wows guests once they walk in the door with a fun, bright atmosphere and a menu of fresh charbroiled 100% angus beef burgers served any way you like. The burgers may take up to 15 minutes to cook because they are charbroiled to order. They are served with Kaiser 5" buns toasted in butter and homemade sauces. Read more and leave a review.

5. Patch How-To: Post an event
Are you or an organization you're part of trying to publicize a local event? From garage sales to street fairs, the Santee Patch events page is the first place to go to let locals know when, where and what's going on, for free! Click here to get started. Another reason to post an event- I use the events page to populate the daily 5 Things posts and weekly events previews, which means more publicity for you're event.
