KCBQ, YMCA, Dudley's Q&A and Jack Dale Called Out

What to know in Santee Tuesday.

1. Reader calls out Councilmember Jack Dale on Turko Files appearance concerning Mast Blvd. to Lakeside dead end. Excerpts:
"Your explanation regarding the completion of Mast Blvd is entirely unacceptable and almost insulting to both the residents of Lakeside and Santee.  I can remember when you made your statement about the completion of 52 in relation to Mast Blvd."

"In your response to Mr. Turko it seems clear you have NO desire to promote safe passage to and from your once fair city.

"Yes, we are Lakeside residents and we shop in Santee.  Your statements make me and my family want to start a boycott of Santee businesses."

On Mission Gorge sits a monument dedicated for the classic KCBQ-AM radio station that has been on Santee's and the rest of San Diego's frequency since 1956, and for a long time was one of the most listened to stations in the county. It features a short history and photos of the studio and it's radio towers in its heyday embedded into the back of the monument, with the names of more than 100 DJs and other on-air staff from the 1958-78 glory days of the station.
