Back in the Saddle

I'm back from a relaxing two week vacation to Jamaica. On the last day of travel, the missus and I were obviously missing home as we donned our Patch shirts without planning to match!

A big thanks goes out to Associate Regional Editor Ken Stone for doing a bang up job covering Santee Patch while I was gone. A lot happened in town, some of the bigger stories can be found below.

FYI: The wifi hotspots on the island can be pretty sketchy- but a lack of internet was a blessing in disguise. Today I'll be going through any emails I may have missed and catching up on stories that I was working on when I left. It's great to be back in Patchland. Heads Up:

This Thursday the California Energy Commission staff will hold a public workshop to discuss the proposed Quail Brush Generation Project (QBGP). The purpose of the workshop is to continue developing a dialogue between staff, members of the public and agencies interested in the proposed project. All interested agencies and members of the public are invited to participate.

The workshop will be held at Mission Trails Visitor Center (Theater) on Thursday March 22nd at 5:00PM.  If you can’t make it to the meeting you can also access the meeting by WebEx and Conference Call.

News

Two men are in custody Wed. morning following a high-speed road chase that went over residential streets in La Mesa and El Cajon before ending in a crash off Interstate 8. La Mesa police say 28-year-old Everette Borha was the driver and 38-year-old Hector Ramos was the passenger of a stolen vehicle that was pursued at speeds of up to 85 miles per hour.
