Farmers Market Fresh: Berries and Cherries
At the peak of their season for a short while, get them while they're at their best.
It's peak berry season at the , and it only stays that way for a short time!
You'll find an assortment of berries, ranging from cherries (the classic dark red Bing or the extraordinarily delicious Rainier blushed yellow) to blackberries to blueberries.
Some of the best looking berries can be found at the Behnemen Farms stand, straight from Valley Center, "pesticide free and fresh off the tree," according to their sign.

Fresh, pesticide free berries don't come cheap though. Blackberries go for $3 a basket or two for $5, and the cherries are similarly priced.
