The that was approved by the broke ground in the Kohl's parking lot this week- the beginning of construction of the restaurant from the ground up that is scheduled to continue until November.
Santee is getting two new fast food chains side-by-side, and In-N-Out will be neighbors. The fast food outlets will be on opposite sides of the driveway that enters between and , with In-N-Out on the Kohl's side and Chick-Fil-A on the Lowe's side. Chick-Fil-A should begin construction in September.
is scheduled to complete the exterior of its building, parking lots and landscaping by November 1, with the interior work to follow, according to City Manager Keith Till.
