Taking on Landre's 4 1/2-Pound Waffle, Bacon, Pulled Pork Burger Challenge

Of 58 attempts since the challenge began about a year ago, only four have completed the gastronomic feat.

Anyone can attempt the Landre's Sports Bar & Grill challenge: Two bacon waffles, one pound bacon burger, one pound jalapeno burger, six ounces pulled pork, six slices cheese, three fried eggs, three slices of bacon and one pound of tater tots, eaten in under one hour.

If you complete the challenge the meal is free, otherwise it costs $42.56, the number of hits Pete Rose had in his career, according to Landre Malone, owner of restaurant.

Of 58 attempts since the challenge began about a year ago, only four have completed the gastronomic feat. Kevin Ross was the first to win the challenge, he did it in 19 minutes and 1 second, an unmatched time, and was given the right to name the burger challenge:

"Kevin Ross Rules Wacky Waffle Jewpacabra Gnarwhal Baron Whole 9 Yards Challenge Burger"

A new contender and friend of Kevin Ross, Matt Cohen, attempted the challenge last week.

While Cohen was tackling the 4 1/2 pounds of food, Kevin decided he would take a gastronomic tour of Landre's menu, plowing through the five cheese mac, crab cake sandwich, french dip, Landre dog, Bacon Chicken Ranch Burger, Grilled Shrimp Salad and 12 Fireballer chicken wings with ghost chili sauce ("smells terrifying," said Ross).

Cohen hit a brick wall in his stomach about two-thirds of the way through the challenge and couldn't finish it in the hour limit. Another one bites the dust.

His favorite part of the monstrosity of food? The pulled pork.

Do you have it in you to take on the challenge?

I'd do it if it was under $30. Even then, it's pushing it. $24.95 would be an awesome price, and could feed 4 people if they didn't want to attempt the challenge individually. Their whole reasoning for it being $42.56 is a nice try at best. The current 58 attempts would surely be over 100+ with a more reasonable market price. Good luck to whoever attempts this massive, heart attack on a plate!!! Lol

Probably good for the health of our city that the price narrows the competition a bit!

For those that haven't experienced Landre's Sports Bar and Grill it's SUPER GREEN!!! Get your Multipass in hand and jump a sky cab to the place NOW!!! And if you have kiddies my chickadees don't you fret. Just because it has "bar" in the name don't mean it's not a family place. They have a whole side of the place that is family friendly. And as for the food... It's better than anything you'll find on Floston Paradise!! Eggs in a bacon bowl! Prime rib as juicy as any, and of course that Leeloo's favorite dish... chikhan!! Need I say more!!

Don't waste your time in this place, THE PLACE SUCKS! Pour service and the quality of food compares to Denny's next door for much cheaper. Don't be fooled by the the "Sports Bar" name its a far cry from one.

What kind of Pour Service do they have? Alcohol? or just Water?

have to agree, seems kind of pricey at $42.56. And then someone is gonna want a tip.
