Taking on Landre's 4 1/2-Pound Waffle, Bacon, Pulled Pork Burger Challenge

Anyone can attempt the Landre's Sports Bar & Grill challenge: Two bacon waffles, one pound bacon burger, one pound jalapeno burger, six ounces pulled pork, six slices cheese, three fried eggs, three slices of bacon and one pound of tater tots, eaten in under one hour.

If you complete the challenge the meal is free, otherwise it costs $42.56, the number of hits Pete Rose had in his career, according to Landre Malone, owner of restaurant.

Of 58 attempts since the challenge began about a year ago, only four have completed the gastronomic feat. Kevin Ross was the first to win the challenge, he did it in 19 minutes and 1 second, an unmatched time, and was given the right to name the burger challenge:

A new contender and friend of Kevin Ross, Matt Cohen, attempted the challenge last week.

While Cohen was tackling the 4 1/2 pounds of food, Kevin decided he would take a gastronomic tour of Landre's menu, plowing through the five cheese mac, crab cake sandwich, french dip, Landre dog, Bacon Chicken Ranch Burger, Grilled Shrimp Salad and 12 Fireballer chicken wings with ghost chili sauce ("smells terrifying," said Ross).

Cohen hit a brick wall in his stomach about two-thirds of the way through the challenge and couldn't finish it in the hour limit. Another one bites the dust.

His favorite part of the monstrosity of food? The pulled pork.
