Update: Overnight Power Outage in Carlton Hills

About 300 Santee homes lost power overnight, the outage lasting more than 12 hours, with an expected recovery at 3 p.m.

The SDG&E electric outages map shows that 297 homes in the Carlton Hills area of Santee have been out of power since 11:59 p.m. Thursday night. The map shows that power is expected to be returned at about 3 p.m. Friday, pushed back from the original estimate of recovery by noon.

The map originally suggested that the outage was caused by problems overhead with the overhead electrical system, but now it cites a combination of issues with the underground cable/equipment.

Power is also still out to more than 600 homes in th El Cajon area for similar reasons.

This outage comes on the heels of a report released Thursday that hints that , and a held Thursday night discussing the proposed Quail Brush Power Plant that would be constructed on the border of Santee.
